Dhaka: Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) is set to rotate its contingent currently deployed in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in the Central African Republic, known as MINUSCA. As part of this rotation, 125 BAF personnel departed from Dhaka to the Central African Republic on Thursday aboard a United Nations-chartered Ethiopian Airlines aircraft, as reported by an Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the contingent is being led by Air Commodore Imranur Rahman, who heads the Armed Military Utility Helicopter Unit. The BAF has garnered a commendable reputation for its effective and professional role in mitigating conflicts internationally. A special prayer, or Munajat, was held at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) to seek further excellence for the contingent as they embarked on their mission.
Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Admin) Air Vice Marshal Rushad Din Asad was present at the airport to see off the contingent. Prior to the departure, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan addressed the contingent at Bangladesh Air Force Headquarters on June 16. He delivered an inspirational speech and offered a special Munajat for the mission's success, urging the personnel to perform their duties with integrity, professionalism, and dedication to uphold the honor of the Bangladesh Air Force and the nation.
