Tangail: Auto-rickshaw and bicycles were distributed among physically-challenged people, extreme poor, and village police members in Madhupur upazila of the district today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the distribution took place at Madhupur Upazila Parishad premises, aiming to rehabilitate the disabled and beggars while creating alternative employment opportunities for them.
Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque attended the event as the chief guest. The initiative saw six battery-run auto-rickshaws distributed to disabled and extremely poor individuals, while bicycles were handed out to 22 village police members. In addition to transportation aids, food items were provided to 57 impoverished individuals.
Madhupur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Zubair Hossain, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rifat Anjum Pia, Upazila Social Service Officer Mustafa Hossain, and Upazila Project Implementation Officer Rajib Al Rana were also present at the event, supporting the efforts to uplift the underprivileged community members.
