Gopalganj: Mohammad Ashhadul Alam, a student from the Statistics Department of Gopalganj University of Science and Technology (GUST), has been awarded the 'cadet under officer' rank by the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC), as announced in a press release from the university today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ashhadul Alam, previously a 'cadet sergeant' of the 22nd Battalion under the Sundarban Regiment of the BNCC, has now achieved the highest rank within the institution. This significant honor was conferred upon him by the Regiment Commander of the Sundarban Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Kamrul Islam, along with 2nd Lieutenant Ashiquzzaman Bhuiyan of the GUST wing, during a modest ceremony.
Present at the ceremony were notable figures such as Regiment Adjutant Major Polash Kumar Biswas and Battalion Commander of the 22nd Battalion, Captain Anwar Hossain Mridha. The event marked a significant milestone in Ashhadul Alam's cadet career. His leadership and administrative skills were particularly noted during the recently held BT Camp-2025, where he served as Sergeant Major of the 22nd Battalion.
