Dhaka: Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman today departed Dhaka for Japan on a four-day official visit to attend the opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. He is representing Bangladesh in his role as president of the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Army Chief's itinerary includes attending various sporting events of the Asian Games. Additionally, he is scheduled to engage in bilateral meetings with senior officials from the Asian Games and Olympic associations.
A statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) highlighted the significance of General Waker-Uz-Zaman's visit, which underscores the strengthening of ties between Bangladesh and international sports communities.
