Dhaka: Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Ansar emerged as champions in men's and women's team events of the Federation Cup Table Tennis competition held at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in the city today (Monday). The Army claimed victory over their arch-rival Bangladesh Ansar with a straight 3-0 set in the men's event, whereas the women of the Army faced defeat against Ansar by 2-3 sets.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the rivalry between Ansar and the Army in table tennis has been ongoing for nearly a decade. Bangladesh Ansar has been participating in the national table tennis championships since 1985, while Bangladesh Army joined the competition in 2014. The last Federation Cup tennis competition prior to this event was held in 2021.
