Arms, Ammunition Recovered in Manikganj

Manikganj: Joint forces recovered arms and ammunition from the Lesraganj Bridge area of Harirampur upazila in the district last night during a special drive conducted with the participation of the army and police. Acting on a tip-off, the joint forces carried out the drive in the area and recovered a firearm, five bombs, and several lethal weapons, said Lieutenant Colonel Wasim Akram of the East Bengal Regiment at a press briefing today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the drive was initiated to ensure a peaceful environment conducive to holding a free, fair, and participatory national election. Lieutenant Colonel Wasim Akram emphasized the importance of such operations in maintaining order and security in the region.



Additional Superintendent of Police Abdullah Al Masud, along with officials Mohor Ali and Abdullah Al Mamun, were present during the briefing and reiterated their commitment to ongoing efforts to safeguard the community and election process. The joint forces assured that further operations would be conducted as necessary to uphold stability in the area.
