Dhaka: Arambagh Krira Sangha and City Club emerged victorious in their respective first round matches of the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Championship League football held today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Arambagh Krira Sangha secured a narrow 1-0 win over Dhaka Rangers Football Club at Fortis Ground in the capital. The match’s only goal, which turned out to be the game-winner, was scored by Nikson Chakma in the 47th minute.
Meanwhile, at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur, City Club also clinched a 1-0 victory against BRTC Sports Club. The decisive moment came when Md Akash Shaikh found the back of the net in the 78th minute, ensuring City Club’s triumph in their opening match of the league.
