Dhaka: The deadline for applications to form a master trainer pool aimed at enhancing the professional skills of secondary-level teachers has been extended to September 26. The information was disclosed in a notice issued by the Learning Acceleration in Secondary Education (LEASE) Project under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) on September 14. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the LEASE Project, which is jointly financed by the government and the World Bank, will provide a 42-day professional development training to 53,760 secondary-level teachers specializing in Bangla, English, Mathematics, and Science. The initiative is forming a subject-based master trainer pool that will include skilled and experienced teachers and officials from various government secondary schools, colleges, training institutes, education administration, and related offices and projects. Applicants are required to submit a forwarding letter from their institution head, confirming permission to particip ate in the training and subsequently train other teachers at their respective workplaces. The master trainer pool will be selected from online applicants based on professional qualifications under the approved 'Trainer Selection Policy'.
