Ansar Win Double Crowns in National Wrestling Meet.

Dhaka: Bangladesh Ansar clinched double crowns in both the men’s and women’s sections of the 36th National Senior Men’s and 10th National Women’s Wrestling competition that concluded today at the National Handball Stadium in the capital, as stated in a press release. In a remarkable performance, Ansar dominated the event, showcasing their prowess in wrestling.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the men’s section, Ansar secured a total of nine medals, comprising seven gold, one silver, and one bronze. Their closest competitors, Border Guard Bangladesh, finished as runners-up with two gold, four silver, and one bronze, totaling seven medals. Bangladesh Army claimed the third spot, also with nine medals, including one gold, four silver, and four bronze.

Ansar’s dominance extended to the women’s section, where they amassed ten medals, including six gold, one silver, and three bronze. Bangladesh Army, with a collection of seven medals (three gold and four bronze), took the runner-up position, while Ban
gladesh Police finished third with one gold and five bronze medals, totaling six medals.

The closing ceremony witnessed Md Sazzadur Rahman, the sports director of the Bangladesh Ansar team, as the chief guest distributing the prizes. The event was also graced by Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation’s general secretary Tabiur Rahman Palowan and other federation officials.

Throughout the two-day meet, a total of 300 male and female wrestlers from various districts across the country participated, competing in twenty different weight categories.
