Dhaka: The Home Ministry’s public security division today transferred 12 directors of Ansar and Village Defence Party as part of a reshuffle in the para-police force.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a public security division gazette notification stated that the directors were transferred from one station to another, often to nearby stations.
Under the notification: Md Kamruzzaman, director of the 28 Ansar Battalion in Lalmanirhat, was moved to the 34 Battalion in the same district. AHM Mehedy Hasan, previously with the 34 Battalion in Guimary, Khagrachari, was transferred to the 28 Battalion in Guimary, Khagrachari. Ashraf Hossain Siddique, director of the 14 Battalion in Dingedah, Chuadanga, was reassigned to the 14 Battalion in Chhotmerong, Dighinala, Khagrachari. Md Sazzada Mahmud, from the 9 Battalion at Chhotmerong, Dighinala, Khagrachari, was moved to the 9 Battalion at Dingedah, Chuadanga.
Additionally, Mohammad Saifuzzaman, director of the 4 Battalion at Ruma, Bandarban, was relocated to the 4 Battalion at Jorarganj, Mirsarai, Chattogram. Shuvra Chowdhury, who served with the 16 Battalion at Jorarganj, Mirsarai, Chattogram, was transferred to the 16 Battalion at Ruma, Bandarban. Dewan Matlubur Rahman of the 27 Battalion at Sualok, Bandarban, was reassigned to the 27 Battalion at Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy, Safipur, Gazipur. Md Moinul Islam, previously with the 10 Battalion at Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy, Safipur, Gazipur, was transferred to the 10 Battalion at Sualok, Bandarban.
Further transfers include Nazmul Haq Nurnabi from the 2 Battalion in Baroichari, Kaptai, Rangamati, to the 23 Battalion in the same location. Farzana Akter Dalia, director of the 23 Battalion at Bedgram, Gopalganj, was moved to the 2 Battalion at the same site. Md Jane Alam Sufian was reassigned from the 5 Battalion at Suhilpur, Brahmanbaria, to the 15 Battalion at the same location. Finally, Md Ammar Hossain, director of the 15 Battalion at Cumillatila, Khagrachari, was transferred to the 5 Battalion at the same place.
The notification clarified that the transfer order, published in the public interest, will be effective immediately.
