Anisul, Qamrul, Salman Among Five Shown Arrested in Uprising Killing Cases

Dhaka: A Dhaka court today showed five individuals, including former ministers Anisul Huq and Qamrul Islam, and former adviser to the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Salman F Rahman, arrested in connection with three separate cases related to murders during the July 2024 Mass Uprising.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the other two individuals are former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak and former home secretary Jahangir Alam. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ariful Islam issued the orders after the police presented the accused in court and requested their arrest in the cases.

Anisul, Salman, and Palak have been arrested in connection with the Russel Miah murder case, while Jahangir Alam has been linked to the Imran Hasan murder case. Advocate Qamrul Islam has been arrested in the case concerning the killing of Mehedi Hasan Pantho. All the cases were filed with Jatrabari Police Station.
