Chattogram:Finance and Planning Minister and BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury emphasized the importance of building an inclusive nation rooted in harmony and love during the Durga Puja festival, which he described as a universal and national celebration.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Amir Khasru reiterated the government's commitment to fulfilling the pledge made by party leader Tarique Rahman to create a truly inclusive nation. He urged the public to work together in unity to achieve this goal.
The remarks were made by Amir Khasru on Friday evening at a gift distribution ceremony organized by the Chattogram Zila Parisad in honor of Durga Puja. The event took place at the J.M. Sen Hall premises, with Chattogram Zila Parisad Chairman Mahbubur Rahman Shamim presiding. City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain and other notable figures also addressed the event.
Amir Khasru acknowledged potential minor challenges but encouraged people to overlook them, focusing instead on the nation's potential. He noted that every society faces disruptive elements and emphasized the importance of unity to prevent such forces from affecting harmony.
He further highlighted the nation's shared history as a foundation for inclusivity, describing Durga Puja as a festival that transcends religious boundaries to become a national celebration. He affirmed the need for equal opportunities and access to state benefits for all citizens as part of building an inclusive society.
The event featured speeches from Ershad Ullah, MP, Abu Sufian, MP, Shri Harish Kumar, Assistant High Commissioner at the Indian Assistant High Commission office in Chattogram, and several other local dignitaries.
