Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen, Surendra Acharya, has sought active role of all three tiers of government in order to maintain gender equality in society.
At a programme organized here on gender equality, Minister Acharya viewed effective enforcement of government plans and policies helps guarantee gender equality. “Only blaming central government for non-implementation of law is not logical, all tiers’ role is equally important,” he underscored.
He called on all to raise voice for the rights of women who have been victims of violence. Acharya believed that the ongoing 16-day activism against GBV would provide opportunity for it.
On the occasion, Chairperson of Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee, Prakash Panth, informed that the committee was working on SDGs.
Similarly, National Planning Commission member Anita Dhungana made presentation on gender empowerment and social inclusion. She stressed reservation, promotion of entrepreneurship and financial access to women via
plan.
