Tangail: Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam, MP, has affirmed that all government activities are focused on the welfare of the people. "The well-being of the people means the well-being of the government. The government will not undertake any action that harms the public; rather, it will continue to work for their development at all times," he stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Faqir Mahbub, who also serves as the Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, made these remarks during a discussion meeting organized by the Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal at Madhupur bus stand in Tangail. The event was held in celebration of the Great May Day. During his address, the minister elaborated on the government's swift action in implementing electoral promises and initiating various development projects within just two months of taking office.
To combat the country's power shortages, the minister announced the inauguration of fuel loading at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. He expressed optimism that the ongoing power crisis would see significant improvement once electricity generation begins in August. He further emphasized the importance of ensuring dignity for workers and fostering mutual cooperation.
The minister highlighted initiatives aimed at creating skilled manpower and expanding overseas labor markets, which are expected to positively impact the country's economy. The event also featured speeches from BNP National Executive Committee Member Advocate Nuruzzaman Suruj, valiant freedom fighter MA Samad, Upazila BNP President Zakir Hossain Sarkar, and Upazila Sramik Dal General Secretary Chan Mia.
Presided over by Upazila Sramik Dal President Md Abdul Hakim, the event saw the attendance of Poura BNP President Khurram Khan Yusufji Prince, along with local leaders and government officials. Later, Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam inaugurated the construction of a Hafezia madrasah building in the Bhaighat area of Dhanbari upazila. At a separate event, he outlined the government's progress over the past two months, with Dhanbari Upazila BNP President Principal M Azizur Rahman also addressing the gathering.
