Rajshahi: The Alauddin Talukdar Scholarship award ceremony for students of the Department of Information Science and Library Management was held today at Rajshahi University (RU). On this occasion, a programme organized by the department saw the participation of Special Guest and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Md. Abdul Alim, who personally handed over the scholarships to the deserving students.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was presided over by the Chairman of the department, Professor Md. Nazmul Islam, with Professor Khalid Alam delivering the welcome speech. During the ceremony, the Convener of the Alauddin Talukdar Educational Scholarship Committee, Professor Md. Shariful Islam, presented a biography of the late Alauddin Talukdar, highlighting his contributions and legacy.
The ceremony was attended by various stakeholders, including Student Adviser Professor A H M Khurshid Alam, along with teachers, students, and other relevant persons from the department. The event recognized the academic achievements of eight students who secured the first position in the first- to fourth-year B.A. (Honours) examinations in 2023 and 2024, awarding them merit scholarships. Additionally, 16 students from the first year to the Master’s level were granted educational assistance scholarships.
