The Awami League will remain on the streets to prevent any disorder until the next parliamentary election, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said Friday.
“We are not holding any alternate events, these are our regular events that will continue till the next election,” he said, while addressing the inauguration of the ‘Chattagram flower festival’ at Chattagram on Friday.
“As the ruling party, it is our responsibility that no one creates chaos. Awami League is a party of the streets, and shall remain on the streets,” he said.
The AL leader also said that they are ‘keeping an eye’ on the BNP, adding “We are holding peace rallies and will continue to do so.”
Deputy Commissioner of Chattagram, Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman and Deputy Minister of Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel were present among others at the event.
