AL takes programme for Martyred Intellectuals Day, V-Day

Awami League has chalked out elaborate

programmes on the occasion of Martyred Intellection Day on December 14 and Victory Day on December 16.

To mark the Martyred Intellectuals Day, Awami League will hoist black flags and keep the national and party flags at half-mast at Bangabandhu Bhaban and its Central Office and all party offices across the country during the dawn, placing of wreaths at Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard at Mirpur at 7.15 am, portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi 32 at 7.45 am and Rayerbazar Killing Ground at Mohammadpur at 9.30 am.

The party will hold a discussion at Krishibid Institution auditorium at Farmgate Khamarbari in the afternoon.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to chair the discussion while central leaders will join it.

The Victory Day programme of the party included hoisting of national and party flags at Bangabandhu Bhaban and its Central Office and all party offices across the country in the dawn, paying tributes to martyred at Savar National Memorial at 6.34 am, placing wraths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi 32 at 8 am and at the grave of Bangabandhu at Tungipara in Gopalganj at 10am.

To mark the day, the party will hold a discussion at Krishibid Institution auditorium at Farmgate Khamarbari in the afternoon on December 17.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to chair the discussion while central leaders will deliver speeches.

On December 19, a colorful cultural function will be hosted by the party at Rabindra Sarabor while noted artistes will perform in it.
