Awami League (AL) national committee member Advocate Chisty Sohrab Hossain died of old age complications at his residence here last night at the age of 92.
He is survived by three sons, four daughters, a host of relatives and admires, family sources said.
His namaz-e-janaja was held after Zohor prayer today at Khulna Alia Kamil Madrasa premises.
He will be buried at Tutpara graveyard in the city.
Sohrab, also the executive member of city unit AL, was the President of Khulna Lawyers Association and vice-president of city unit AL.
State Minister of Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian, Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque, lawmakers of all Khulna constituencies and AL leaders in separate messages expressed deep shocked at his death and conveyed sympathy to his bereaved family.
They also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
