Sarifa Khatun, mother of Domar upazila Awami League (AL) unit General Secretary in Nilphamari district Manjurul Haque Chowdhury, died of old-age complications last night.
She was 85.
She left behind two sons and two daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn her death, said a press release signed by AL Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua.
In a message of condolence, Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Sarifa Khatun.
Quader prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
