Rajshahi: Chief Organizer of the northern region of the National Citizen Party (NCP), Sarjis Alam, has declared that the Bangladesh Awami League (AL) has no scope to engage in political activities within Bangladesh. Alam stated that the activities of the Awami League have been banned and emphasized that their symbols and registration must be legally prohibited.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sarjis Alam made these remarks during a press briefing held at the conference hall of the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He warned that anyone attempting to address this issue in the current post-revolution context would be identified as an anti-revolution element.
Addressing the matter of their election symbol, Alam expressed confidence that there is no legal hindrance for the NCP to adopt the Shapla (Water Lily) as their electoral symbol. “We hope we will get Shapla as our election symbol and the NCP will take part in the election with the symbol,” he asserted.
The press briefing was attended by NCP Rajshahi Divisional Organizing Secretary Imran Emon and City Chief Coordinator Mobasser Ali, among others.
