The Awami League leaders will start visiting districts to project the government's development activities to the people.
Keeping the next national polls in view, members of the newly elected AL central executive committee will begin the tours at the end of December or the beginning of January, party insiders told BSS.
They will make lists of the destitute and homeless people, involvement the people with anti-militancy activities and project the government's development activities.
Asked about the visit, AL Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim said they will chalk out some action plans regarding the nationwide visit at a joint meeting of party's central executive committee and advisory council tomorrow.
Implementation of those action plans will begin following approval by AL President Sheikh Hasina, he said, adding that the programme will aim at making the party victorious in the next election.
The AL government has already undertaken a plan to make houses for the homeless people. This plan has been taken in view of the next national election.
Earlier, Sheikh Hasina asked the party leaders and workers at AL national council to make lists of the destitute and homeless people.
AL policymakers think if the district tour programme becomes successful, it will increase the party's popularity and votes as well.
AL Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said the party leaders need to go on tours to abide by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's call to make lists of the destitute and homeless people.
This list should be made from the grassroots, added.
Besides, the leaders need to go to the people to involve them in the combat against militancy and terrorism, he said.
