Dhaka: The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and Akij Air have officially signed an agreement, marking Akij Air as the Bangladesh national football team's official travel partner for the upcoming San Marino tour. The agreement was formalized during a ceremony at the BFF Bhaban's conference room.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the agreement outlines that Akij Air will manage all travel arrangements for the Bangladesh contingent. This includes determining the most suitable travel routes and providing tickets to the federation at cost-effective rates. BFF vice-president Fahad Karim highlighted that Akij Air would offer additional concessions beyond the standard benefits typically provided by travel agencies, ensuring a financially advantageous partnership for the federation.
The agreement covers the 34-member Bangladesh contingent traveling to San Marino. However, the current partnership between BFF and Akij Air is specific to the San Marino tour and has not been extended into a long-term collaboration.
Akij Air chief commercial officer Daraz Mahmud expressed satisfaction with the new association with football and pointed to Akij Group's long-standing successful operations. He also expressed hope for broader cooperation in the future. The Bangladesh team is set to play a historic FIFA Tier-1 international friendly match against San Marino on June 5, in San Marino.
