Terengganu:Terengganu Cycling Team rider Muhammad Nur Aiman Rosli intends to implement a "saving strength" strategy during the initial climbing stages of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2026, which kicks off tomorrow. He aims to conserve energy for a strong finish in the later stages.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 27-year-old cyclist plans to launch aggressive breakaways in Stage Six (Pandan Indah-Rembau), Stage Seven (Melaka-Batu Pahat), and Stage Eight (Muar-Putrajaya). He has set his sights on a successful breakaway to the finish line, not just any breakaway.

Aiman, who finished as the runner-up in Stage Seven (Melaka-Medini) last year, is hopeful for victory in the final stage in Putrajaya. For the opening stage from Shah Alam to Kampar, he is considering the possibility of competing for the King of the Mountains (KOM) jersey or the Best Asian Rider title if an opportunity for an early move presents itself.

Meanwhile, Malaysia Pro Cycling rider Muhammad Izzat Hilmi Abdul Halil shared that this 30th edition of LTdL is one of the toughest due to the hilly terrain. He plans to focus on bunch sprint finishes, especially in tomorrow's first stage, and hopes to leverage potential jet lag among foreign competitors.

Izzat Hilmi also stated that MPC aims to secure the Best Asian Rider title and achieve a top 10 finish in the overall team category. He expressed a personal ambition to reach the podium in Stage Seven in Batu Pahat, his hometown.
