Gopalganj: Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan and Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan today visited the areas impacted by a series of clashes and attacks in Gopalganj, which occurred during the National Citizen Party (NCP) march programme. During their visit, they assessed the situation and gathered information on the incidents.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the advisers visited Gopalganj District Jail, where they engaged in discussions with prison authorities to understand the circumstances and repercussions of the events. They collected data on various issues relevant to the clashes.
Following their visit to the jail, the advisers inspected several damaged structures, including the NCP meeting venue, the site of the clashes, and the July Memorial. Their visit aimed to assess the extent of the damage and gather insights into the incidents that transpired.
The visit was attended by key officials, including Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid, IG Prison Brigadier General Syed Md. Motaher Hossain, Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman, and Police Superintendent Mizanur Rahman. Their presence highlighted the significance of the visit and the government's focus on addressing the situation.
