Tejgaon: The recent flood and waterlogging situation caused by heavy rains in the Feni and Noakhali districts was the central focus of the Council of Advisers meeting held today at the Chief Adviser's Office (CAO) in Tejgaon. Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus presided over the meeting, where advisers from relevant ministries shared their insights and actions regarding the flood and the measures taken to address the situation.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting emphasized the necessity of finalizing the design of the Musapur Regulator and Bamni Closure by the Ministry of Water Resources. Discussions also included the finalization of a permanent dam construction project in Feni and initiatives to open canals and drainage systems in Noakhali.
The Council was informed about ongoing efforts to repair damaged dams, protect riverbanks, and improve water control infrastructure in the affected districts. These efforts are supported by funding from the World Bank and aim to mitigate the impact of such disasters.
During the meeting, a thorough discussion took place regarding the steps taken by the Ministry of Relief and Rehabilitation and local administrations to manage the ongoing flood and waterlogging crisis in Feni and Noakhali.
