Adviser Asif Mahmud Pays Tribute to Martyr Abu Sayeed at Begum Rokeya University

Rangpur: Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan paid tribute to martyr Abu Sayeed at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) campus today. He honored the memory of Shaheed Abu Sayeed, a student of the English Department at BRUR, who lost his life in police firing during the July Uprising on July 16 last year, by placing a wreath at the ‘Shaheed Abu Sayeed Memorial.’



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, upon reaching the campus in the afternoon, BRUR Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali welcomed Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, who is also the Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The event saw the presence of university teachers and students.



After the tribute, Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan exchanged greetings with the Vice-Chancellor and the students. During this interaction, students requested cooperation from the Adviser in acquiring indoor and outdoor stadiums and two buses to address transportation issues.



Later, Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan engaged with journalists on various topics. The event was attended by the university’s Registrar Dr Md Harun-or-Rashid, Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal, senior administration officials, and other relevant personnel.
