Naogaon: The admission process for undergraduate (honours) programmes at Naogaon University has officially begun for the first time since the institution was established, marking a significant milestone in the university’s history. The admission activities will commence on Monday, June 8.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a notification issued on June 6 by the university’s Registrar Md. Alauddin states that students allocated to units A, B, and C through the integrated admission test conducted under the GST (General, Science and Technology) cluster of universities must complete their primary admission confirmation within the prescribed timeframe. The university authorities have detailed that the primary admission process for the 2025-26 academic session will be conducted online through the GST admission website from 12:00 pm on June 7 until 11:59 pm on June 10.

Applicants are required to submit the original mark sheets of SSC or equivalent and HSC or equivalent examinations, along with other necessary documents and a receipt of the Taka 5,000 initial admission fee. Students must submit the required documents in person at Room 310 of the Registrar’s Office (third floor) of Naogaon University between June 8 and June 11 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm daily. Documents should be enclosed in an A4-size envelope clearly mentioning the applicant’s name and GST roll number.

The notification further instructs students to collect the signature of the respective unit coordinator and a sealed submission receipt after completing the document submission process. The receipt will be required later to retrieve the original academic certificates. Registrar Md. Alauddin urged all aspirant students to complete the admission formalities within the stipulated period. ‘Once the admission process is completed, academic activities will begin very soon,’ he said.

Welcoming the historic occasion, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Hasanat Ali described the beginning of student admissions as a glorious milestone for the district and the university. He noted that Naogaon University, established in 2023, was once only a dream, existing merely in government gazette notifications and future aspirations. The journey toward transforming it into a functioning institution was marked by numerous challenges, uncertainties, and controversies.

He expressed hope that Naogaon University would grow beyond being a degree-awarding institution and emerge as a centre of knowledge, innovation, research, and human values. ‘The university will produce skilled administrators, competent legal professionals, successful entrepreneurs, researchers, and socially responsible citizens dedicated to the welfare of humanity,’ he added.
