Dhaka: A court here today granted a five-day remand to 29-year-old Mahibullah Mubin, who was arrested for allegedly breaching the security protocol of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s motorcade in the capital’s Farmgate area. Police presented him before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court of Dhaka. The investigating officer requested a seven-day remand for Mubin.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sara Farzana granted a five-day remand after considering the plea. Mubin allegedly breached the Prime Minister’s security protocol and approached near the Prime Minister’s vehicle while the premier was on route to a program at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in the capital’s Khamarbari area on Saturday afternoon.
Police detained Mubin at the scene following the incident. Subsequently, a case was filed with Tejgaon Police Station under the Anti-Terrorism Act concerning the breach.
