Kotalipara:Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has shown concern for a 95-year-old man from Kotalipara in Gopalganj who, despite having raised six children, was left to seek refuge under a tree.
According to United News of Bangladesh, a media report titled 'After raising six children, 95-year-old father finds shelter under a tree' brought the elderly man's situation to light, prompting the Prime Minister to instruct his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon to address the issue.
On Thursday, a delegation from 'Amra BNP Poribar,' led by its Member Secretary Krishibid Moksedul Momin Mithun, visited Haji Shamsul Haque Molla in Uttar Hiron village to assess his condition and family circumstances. The delegation delivered gifts and a message of sympathy from the Prime Minister, who supports the organization.
During the visit, Mithun stated that the Prime Minister had directed them to ensure that safe shelter, proper care, and humanitarian assistance were provided for Shamsul. The delegation learned that Shamsul's children had taken him back home and promised to care for him for the remainder of his life. Mithun assured that this update would be communicated to the Prime Minister.
The report further elaborated that Shamsul had distributed his land and property among his children, which eventually led to his homelessness when he was allegedly removed from his home and had to find shelter under a tree near his house. The media's coverage of his predicament reached the Prime Minister, prompting this response.
