Gazipur:Four individuals sustained burn injuries following a gas cylinder explosion in the Naojor Bazar area of Gazipur on Wednesday night. The explosion occurred at 9 pm, leading to the victims being transported to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka for medical care.
According to United News of Bangladesh, among the injured, 19-year-old Ahad has suffered burns covering 55 percent of his body and is in critical condition. Dr. Sultan Mahmud Sikder, the resident surgeon at the institute, provided details on the injuries Abdullah, 18, sustained burns on 20 percent of his body; Ashraful, 26, experienced burns on 15 percent; and Naim, 25, suffered burns covering 4 percent of his body.
Dr. Sikder mentioned that Abdullah, Ahad, and Ashraful have been admitted to the institute's High Dependency Medical Unit (HDMU) for treatment. Meanwhile, Naim is currently under observation in the emergency department due to his injuries.
