Jhenaidah:A three-day nutrition fair and campaign aimed at promoting safe food and nutrition awareness is currently taking place in Jhenaidah, focusing on the nutritional needs of adolescents.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event is organized by the Bangladesh Applied Nutrition and Human Resource Development Board (BIRTAN) under the Ministry of Agriculture, with active participation from school students.
The second-day program was inaugurated by District Secondary Education Officer Md. Lutfor Rahman at Ramchandrapur School and College in Sadar upazila at 10 am. The event was presided over by BIRTAN's Jhenaidah Regional Office Senior Scientific Officer Md. Marufur Rahman and attended by Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Md. Mofizul Islam, among others.
Speakers at the event encouraged students to consume locally available nutritious foods, fruits, and other essential items to meet their nutritional needs. More than 100 students received practical guidance on safe food and nutrition during the campaign, which began on November 3 and is set to conclude on November 5.
