Dhaka:Six dengue patients succumbed to the mosquito-borne disease in the last 24 hours, with 1,970 individuals hospitalized for treatment during the same period.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, these recent deaths have increased the national dengue death toll to 433 for the current year, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the newly hospitalized patients, 900 cases were reported in Dhaka Division, 95 in Mymensingh Division, 252 in Chattogram Division, 294 in Khulna Division, 153 in Rajshahi Division, 71 in Rangpur Division, 183 in Barishal Division, and 22 in Sylhet Division.
The report further indicates that a total of 138,899 dengue patients have been hospitalized this year across the country. Out of these, 132,449 patients have successfully recovered and have been discharged from hospitals. Last year, 102,861 individuals were infected with dengue, resulting in 413 deaths.
