Dhaka:The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has issued a directive to urgently reconstitute committees at the Upazila and metropolitan levels to ensure the smooth and transparent distribution of honorarium allowances to the Freedom Fighters (FF).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this directive was communicated through a letter issued on November 1 by the Ministry's Welfare Wing-2. The letter emphasized the need for immediate action and instructed the concerned Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) to prioritize this task.
The directive is aligned with instructions from the Prime Minister's Office, highlighting the necessity of reconstituting field-level committees under various branches of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs. It specifically refers to clause 6 of the 'Freedom Fighters Honorarium Allowance Distribution Order, 2020', which mandates the formation of Upazila-level and metropolitan-level committees to verify applications from Freedom Fighters or their beneficiaries for receiving honorarium allowances.
The Ministry underscored the urgency of reconstituting these committees in compliance with the order and directives. Consequently, DCs and UNOs have been requested to take the necessary steps to implement the directive.
