Brahmanbaria:Bangladesh Bank (BB) has completed the transfer of 268 decimals of land in Khewra Mouza, Kasba Upazila, Brahmanbaria district to 11 buyers. This follows a High Court order directing the registration process.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the land is part of a total of 373 decimals belonging to the now-defunct Pioneer Bank Limited, which was sold in an open auction on January 31, 2026. The auction was overseen by a Joint District and Sessions Judge appointed by the Supreme Court.

Following the auction, legal disputes arose over 105 decimals of the auctioned land due to claims by illegal occupants. Consequently, the remaining 268 decimals were processed for registration in favor of the highest bidders, as per the High Court's directive issued on September 7, 2026.

The Bangladesh Bank, acting as the Official Liquidator for 17 defunct banks under a High Court Division order from July 26, 1977, executed the court's directive at its head office. The Governor of Bangladesh Bank attended the handover ceremony as the chief guest, with Deputy Governors-1 and 2 also in attendance as special guests.
