Dhaka:A three-day event titled 'Barvida Car Expo-2026' is set to commence on November 5, commemorating 50 years of Japanese cars in Bangladesh while aiming to boost the reconditioned car market. The exhibition will take place from November 5 to 7 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, organized by the Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (BARVIDA).

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BARVIDA General Secretary Riaz Rahman shared details about the expo during a press conference at the association's office in the capital. He stated that the primary goal of the event is to gather popular Japanese reconditioned cars under one roof, enabling potential buyers to explore various models, compare their features, technology, and prices, and make informed purchasing decisions.

The expo will feature a range of Japanese reconditioned car models, including well-known names such as the Toyota Prius, Corolla Cross, Harrier, Noah, Voxy, and Alphard. A special exhibition will highlight the 50-year journey of Japanese cars in Bangladesh, showcasing their arrival, the evolution of Japan's automobile industry, and its contributions to Bangladesh's transport sector.

The press conference also emphasized the significant role Japanese cars play in Bangladesh, extending beyond transportation to include employment generation, investment, business expansion, and government revenue collection. As per BARVIDA, the automobile sector encompasses more than just car imports and sales; it is intricately linked to employment, entrepreneurship, investment, technological advancement, and international trade relations.
