Dhaka:The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 581 individuals and filed 48 cases during a 24-hour anti-crime operation in the capital. The arrests were part of regular operations conducted across various police station areas in Dhaka on Tuesday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrests were executed by different divisions of the DMP. Specifically, the Ramna Division arrested 19 individuals, Lalbagh Division 71, Wari Division 90, Motijheel Division 89, Tejgaon Division 68, Mirpur Division 159, Gulshan Division 42, Uttara Division 39, and the Detective Branch (DB) apprehended four suspects.
The operations also led to the seizure of 9,360 yaba tablets, 50 kilograms and 450 grams of cannabis, 20 bottles of phensedyl, nine mobile phones, one motorcycle, one knife, gold ornaments weighing 61.80 grams, and Tk 7,800 in cash. Legal proceedings against those arrested are currently underway.
