Dhaka:The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has requested comprehensive details of bank accounts and financial transactions related to Bangladesh Bank Joint Director Mosharrof Hossain and his wife.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BFIU has sent an email to banks and financial institutions seeking transaction records of both active and closed bank accounts, as well as mobile financial service accounts, held by Mosharrof Hossain and his wife, Umme Hasan Dolly. The request also includes accounts associated with their interests.
The financial institutions have been instructed to provide account opening forms, know-your-customer (KYC) documents, relevant papers, and detailed transaction statements by Sunday. This request follows media reports suggesting that Mosharrof Hossain may possess assets beyond what is declared in his tax returns.
Bangladesh Bank officials indicate that this investigation by the BFIU is part of an ongoing inquiry into the financial activities of the individuals involved.
