Dhaka:The Bangladesh Bar Council has established a maximum age limit of 35 years for candidates seeking enrolment as lawyers.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Bar Council, which serves as the licensing and regulatory body for all advocates in Bangladesh, issued a public notice regarding this decision on October 26. The notice, signed by Bangladesh Bar Council Secretary Mohammad Kamal Hossain Sikder, a district and sessions judge, outlined that the decision was adopted during a council meeting on August 19.

The implementation of the age limit considers the interests of current LLB students, with the new rule set to take effect from January 1, 2030. From this date, the age limit will apply to the acceptance of enrolment applications, the verification of candidates' eligibility, and the execution of subsequent enrolment-related procedures.
