Dhaka:Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed announced today that the upcoming general election in Bangladesh will be conducted under a caretaker government system.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the announcement was made during a press briefing at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The briefing followed the successful and peaceful celebration of Durga Puja. Minister Ahmed emphasized that there is political consensus on this decision, and the caretaker government system will be reinstated and maintained through constitutional amendments in Parliament.

Furthermore, the Home Minister addressed concerns about alleged political coordination between the banned Awami League and Jamaat-e-Islami, which is purportedly aimed at overthrowing the government. He affirmed that the government's stance on this matter has already been clearly communicated.
