Rangpur:Two carriages of the intercity Dolonchapa Express derailed at Badarganj Railway Station in Rangpur district, halting train services on the Rangpur-Parbatipur route this evening.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the derailment occurred around 6 pm when the train, traveling from Santahar to Panchagarh, arrived at Badarganj station. Sources at Badarganj and Rangpur railway stations reported that the two carriages went off the tracks upon the train's arrival.
The incident caused panic among passengers, though no casualties were reported immediately. Badarganj Railway Station Master Imrul Kayes informed that a rescue train from Parbatipur had reached the scene and began recovery operations. Meanwhile, Abdullah Al Mamun, station superintendent at Rangpur railway station, stated that all train movements through Badarganj had been temporarily suspended following the derailment.
