Faridpur:Jatiya Sangsad Whip M Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu announced that the government is planning to introduce retirement allowances for athletes from various sporting disciplines. This statement was made during the inauguration of the final match of the Kajal Ahmed Football Tournament-2026 at Bagat High School ground in Madhukhali upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the whip highlighted that the Prime Minister has directed the organization of various sports competitions across the country. These initiatives aim to encourage sports participation and promote greater involvement among young people.
Dulu emphasized that these efforts are expected to help discover talented players in rural areas and involve the youth in sports, thereby protecting them from drug abuse and addiction to mobile phones. He also mentioned the government's plan to establish a playground in every union across the country, with stadiums built at these locations to facilitate regular sports activities.
The event was presided over by Madhukhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Masudur Rahman. Also present were Faridpur-3 constituency lawmaker Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, former Faridpur-1 lawmaker Khandaker Nasirul Islam, Portugal BNP Senior Joint Convener Kajal Ahmed, Faridpur District Council Chairman Md Afzal Hossain Khan Palash, and district BNP Member Secretary AKM Kibria Swapan.
