Rangpur:The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) conducted a successful operation today, resulting in the arrest of a woman and the recovery of 570 yaba tablets at Saddyapuskorini (Noyapara) under Sadar Kotwali police station.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individual has been identified as Mst Peari Begum, 61, the widow of the late Solaiman Mia, residing in the same village. The operation was carried out by a Rangpur DNC team, which, acting on a tip-off, searched Begum's house. The contraband was discovered in her bedroom, leading to her arrest at 1110 am on Wednesday.
Following the arrest, Rangpur DNC Inspector SM Eltas Uddin filed a case and transferred the suspect along with the seized narcotics to Sadar Kotwali police station for further legal action.
