Manikganj:Food Minister Afroza Khanam Rita distributed sarees and clothes donated by the Prime Minister to poor and distressed women of the Hindu community in Manikganj. These gifts were intended to support their celebrations of Durga Puja.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the distribution took place at a programme organised by the Manikganj Sadar Upazila administration. During the event, Minister Afroza Khanam Rita emphasized that the Prime Minister provided these gifts to assist underprivileged members of the Hindu community in celebrating their most significant religious festival.
The programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Nazmun Ara Sultana and attended by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mousumi Nasrin, among others. Local Hindu community leaders, as well as BNP leaders and activists, were also present. The minister noted that this year's Durga Puja was being celebrated with more festivity and joy compared to previous years.
