Lalmonirhat:All import and export activities through Burimari Land Port will be halted for eight days starting Friday, in observance of Durga Puja and the weekly holidays.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the last working day before the closure was Thursday, marked by heightened activity at the tri-nation commercial hub. Trade leaders from Burimari and India's Changrabandha Land Port held an emergency meeting where they agreed to pause trade for six days from October 17 to October 22.

The inclusion of the weekly holidays on October 16 and October 23 brings the total suspension period to eight days. Normal trading and port operations are set to resume on October 24.

Despite the suspension of trade activities, cross-border travel for passport-bearing passengers will continue without interruption, as confirmed by Burimari Land Port Immigration Officer-in-Charge Sub-Inspector Saifur Rahman.
