Accra:The Local Government Division has directed a halt to all government tenders and procurement processes related to works, services, and goods. This suspension will remain in effect until new rules are formulated under the Public Procurement (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026, and a new rate schedule is published. This directive was issued in a circular today by the Local Government Division, part of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the circular, which was signed by Senior Assistant Secretary A. B. M. Ariful Islam, specifies that both new and ongoing tender and procurement processes are affected by this suspension. However, exceptions are made for matters deemed to be of national emergency.
The circular also mentioned that the suspension would continue until further notice, and all relevant agencies have been advised to take necessary actions in light of this directive.
