Dhaka:More than 6,000 members of the Special Response Battalion (SRB) have been deployed across Bangladesh to ensure the peaceful celebration of Sharadiya Durga Puja. Enhanced security measures are in place at puja mandaps, key roads, and other important locations.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the SRB has launched a nationwide special security operation from October 13 to October 22. This effort aims to maintain law and order and prevent any incidents during the Hindu community's biggest religious festival.

Durga Puja celebrations will formally begin with Maha Shashthi tomorrow and conclude with idol immersion on Bijoya Dashami on October 21. Speaking to journalists after inspecting security arrangements at Mirpur Central Temple in Dhaka, Director General of SRB Additional IGP Md. Ahsan Habib Palash emphasized that Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. He assured that the force has taken special measures to provide a safe environment for devotees.

The DG stated that the SRB is working in coordination with other law enforcement agencies to ensure people of all communities can observe the festival with religious devotion, joy, and peace. "Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. We have taken special security measures this year to ensure that devotees can celebrate Durga Puja in a peaceful and festive atmosphere," he said.
