Baku:The government has extended the deadline for submitting bids in its Offshore Bidding Round 2026 to March 31, 2027. This decision follows requests from international oil companies.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deadline for the bidding round has been pushed back four months from the original date of November 30, 2026, as announced in a press release by the power, energy, and mineral resources ministry.
The ministry stated that the extension came after discussions with several internationally renowned oil companies, who requested more time to assess the available data and prepare their bids. The ministry has also made data-sale packages more accessible to encourage participation.
The extended deadline aims to give interested companies additional time to evaluate data and prepare their submissions for offshore exploration, potentially increasing the interest from international oil companies in the bidding round.
