Dhaka:Another witness provided testimony today in the ongoing case concerning the 2018 attack on former US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Marcia Bernicat's motorcade in the Mohammadpur area of the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, former Detective Branch Inspector Md Moniruzzaman became the 10th prosecution witness in this case, giving his testimony before the court. Following his testimony, he was cross-examined by the defense.
The proceedings were adjourned by Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akter, with the next hearing scheduled for January 11, 2027. The attack occurred on the night of August 4, 2018, when Bernicat's vehicle was leaving the residence of Shujan Secretary Badiul Alam Majumdar. Majumdar subsequently filed a case regarding the incident with the Mohammadpur Police Station on August 10, 2018.
