Accra:The country's remittance inflow reached US$9.366 billion during the period from July to October 7 of the current fiscal year, marking a 13.1 percent growth compared to the same timeframe last year, as per the latest data from Bangladesh Bank.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the previous fiscal year, the remittance inflow amounted to US$8.278 billion during the corresponding period. The current data indicates a strong upward trend, particularly in October, where expatriate Bangladeshis sent US$774 million between October 1-7, surpassing the US$692 million recorded in the same week of 2025, which represents an 11.8 percent increase.
On October 7 alone, remittances amounted to US$129 million. This continuous growth in remittance inflows is bolstering the country's foreign exchange reserves and contributing to external-sector stability, while also enhancing the flow of foreign currency through official banking channels.
