Dhaka:The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has launched its first month-long cybersecurity awareness programme, aiming to enhance cyber resilience among its officials, employees, and Trading Right Entitlement Certificate (TREC) holders.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the initiative, which is running throughout October, focuses on increasing awareness of online fraud, promoting safe digital practices, and encouraging responsible behavior to protect against cyber threats.
The programme includes the display of cybersecurity awareness banners and festoons on DSE premises, as well as the introduction of awareness-themed desktop wallpapers on employees' computers. These measures are designed to improve participants' ability to identify and respond to suspicious emails, malicious links, and potential cyber risks.
Additionally, the DSE has arranged online cybersecurity awareness training sessions for TREC holders via the Zoom platform, grouping participants to facilitate practical learning on key cybersecurity issues. An online quiz competition has also been organized to assess and encourage TREC holders' cybersecurity knowledge, with winners being selected based on their responses.
To further incentivize participation, the DSE plans to recognize TREC holders who demonstrate notable performance in cybersecurity awareness activities, awarding them certificates at the exchange's regular 'Meet and Greet' programme.
The Information Security Department (ISS) is coordinating the programme, handling the planning, preparation of awareness materials, training sessions, and quiz competition organization. The IT Infrastructure, Network, Public Relations, and Publications departments, along with the Managing Director's Office, are providing necessary support for the initiative's implementation.
The DSE emphasizes that securing technology-driven capital market operations requires both technical safeguards and awareness from all stakeholders. The exchange hopes that this coordinated effort will strengthen cybersecurity awareness and contribute to a safer, more reliable, and technology-driven capital market.
